Late August provides great creeking as the levels drop, though the weather is still nice. Well, sometimes! I guess you can't ask much when you head out towards the Wet Coast! Joel and I met up with Dave and Nickie in Merritt and all jumped into one truck. We head to Boston Bar and up the Nahatlatch valley (remind me to go hit up that river again sometime). Then we bumped our way for another hour west on an fsr and decided to camp on the side of the road at summit of the road. The next morning with some beta from a trip report online and Dave trying to remember a video from online we decided on the put in and went for it. What an amazing river? The water was crystal clear and the pool drop character gave lots of time for the nerves to calm down before hitting the next feature. We took our time heading down, taking video and photos along the way. One portage around the big falls was due to a bad seive at the top and the fact that it was almost a certain launch into and auto boof which would have hurt from that height!
Day two was equally as impressive. A couple more big lines, more beautiful rock formations ending in a gorge that is as committing as it gets and may be on the list for a future mission. All in all, it's another gem hidden away in BC's remote areas. Check out Dave's pics as well there are some awesome ones taken by Nickie up on the bridge. Video to be uploaded shortly.
