Bike Tripping the Olympic Peninsula

Tess and I busted out to Victoria and spent the night with Spencer and Kara before heading on the ferry over the Port Angeles. We proceeded to right through cold temperatures, rain, some sleet, and overall very cloudy conditions for the next 5 days. The terrain was gorgeous and the state parks provide great camping for a good price. They even has special hiker/biker spots more secluded and cheaper than the regular spots. The foul weather made it so that we didn't do much site seeing or lounging around. We rode hard. Two days over 100 km and and average of about 80 km per day got us back to Port Angeles two days early! We were really wanting to go hard and it worked out perfectly! Some highlights include T's emergency stop at Eagle Creek Saloon for dinner on our longest day, and the cute town of Port Townsend which we would have liked to spend more time but it was pouring rain! Oh well, we enjoyed our time and it allowed us to chill in Vic and spend more time with T's brother.

Since we had a bit of time, we went up island to stay a night at Judy and Vincent's beautiful log cabin in Nanoose bay. It was amazing, great location and they've put an amazing amount of work into the house. Tess and I were fortunate enough to borrow their sea kayaks and go for a nice paddle. After walking the boats the ocean and a short paddle we got to Seal Island which had at least 50 seals lounging in the sun. They quickly jumped in the water to join us with curiosity. It was a blast with some coming as close and the end of your boat! We only wished we could see them swimming because I'm sure some were coming underneath us.
