Where did April go?

The last six weeks have been quite hectic in the T&L house. It has been non-stop with races, work, guests and play all mixed in. I am finally taking some time to get a post up and to lure you all to some (but not many) pictures of the last while.

Work has been nuts with both Tess and I having to travel. I've been as far as northern BC and out to Manitoba, and Tess has been... well out the Vancity a couple of times. Even with that schedule we've done lots of training and quite a few races. We started the race season with Ski2Sea with great results for both of us. T's women's team even earned a bronze medal! (for more check Mark's write up) Two weeks later Tess and joined 50 thousand other runners at the Vancouver Sun Run. It was great fun, and more a exciting adventure than a true race. So many people to dodge! The training continued at a heavy pace for me, with the loading period of my program. This period ended last weekend with an Olympic distance Triathlon in Cultus lake. Due to heavy rain the night before and cold temperatures, the lake water was only 10.2 degrees and the swim was shortened to 500m. The race went well, and it gave me much needed experience for my big one on June 1st.

Somehow, when not racing, we've had guests! Yannick joined us for 5 days and we mixed in some good climbing and mt biking. It was awesome. Then we had the Davies over with the two kids. We paddled with Jeremy on saturday and chilled out sunday, going to the goat cheese farm and hitting the beach for a picnic. It didn't stop there.... too easy! T's mom Heather and Grandma Glo joined us for this past weekend, and it started off with a super hot day down in Naramata drinking wine and enjoying the sun.

All in all, it's been a great spring. The weather hasn't been very nice but that's making a sharp turn this weekend with temperatures looking to be 25-30 for the next couple of weeks! We're looking forward to slowing it down a bit and regrouping a bit but not until next week as Tess is in Vancouver until the end of the week and then we head to the states for the long weekend(4 days for us) for some biking and paddling.

See you on the trails and rivers!
