This Saturday Yannick and I went out again to Zoa Ridge. This time it wasn't with Danielle but with Tess. We were very fortunate to have our Aunt and Uncle in Merritt take care of Taio for the day so we could get a day out touring together. It hadn't snowed all week but the forecast looked somewhat promising. To our surprise we showed up to the parking lot with 30 cm of super light fresh on the ground. It snowed hard all day and was around 50 cm with loaded areas of 70-80 by late afternoon. The wind created some havoc with soft slab formation that was willing to run on the thermal crust below if coaxed in just the right way. Between that and poor visibility it was a bit nerve racking. We tried to find some new zones, but concluded on the drive home that when there is 50 cm of fresh just hit what you know!! Oh well.
Tess had her first day on her new boots. She got the Black Diamond Swifts and immediately notice the close to 1 lb weight savings from here old boots! Just waiting for those Dynafits to come in so she can shave another 3-4 lbs off her setup and get out on her new skis!! Thanks to the boys at Union for wicked gear and boot fitting!
Here is another quick video compilation. Trying to slowly learn the best way to shoot with my Canon 60D but it has been two storm days now which doesn't make this easy! Apologise for the over use of slow motion!! Just fun to play around!
