It was a strange fall in the Okanagan this year. It started to cool off early in September and we didn't get any of the hot weather we are usually treated to. The thing is that it stayed at that medium temperature for a long time. We were able to do loads of great mountain biking right until the Rememberance day weekend. That week I rode Smith Creek 4 times! (ok, the last one was in the snow.) We managed to get out and enjoy the fall colours and Tess kept up the road biking and running which she felt she could manage the intensity.

Yannick Walter and I even did some crevasse rescue practice out at the Winfield crag and this was a great refresher and learning exercise. It was impressive to see how easy it was to haul up 250 lbs with a 3 to 1!
I took some scenery pictures that turned out ok as well.
We finally had our first day on snow two weekends ago and it wasn't bad. The coverage is definitely low for this time of year but we were all smiles! It was nice to get out into the mountains again.
Check out some shots here.
