The matrix is still alive.... After meeting up with Jackie and Ron at the turnoff we all piled in the matrix, threw on the chains and went for it. After a couple of push sessions, some odd smells from the car and shovelling to carve a turn around point we finally parked the car at about km 10.5 for a nice 12:15 alpine start! Ron had borrowed 2 video cameras so we were loaded with tripods and my dslr too. We blasted up the road skinning to the uptrack in about an hour. We started up and the snow was sticking to everything make it all weight a tonne!! A quick fix of lip chap and sunscreen fixed our skins and we moved on to the upper bowl. With day running out, we quickly built a kicker and did a couple laps and then had an awesome ski down. It's funny how as soon as the camera comes out, so does the peer pressure! Ron found himself hugging and dead tree on the lip of a 15 footer!! Awesome footage!! Anyway, we skied out and then went to Ron's cabin on Shuswap lake which was great. We got the fire stocked, enough pots out to catch all the drips through the roof and dinner by 10. I love it! Mix that in with the northern lights and breaky on the porch overlooking the lake, I'd say it was a pretty good weekend!
