Mark, Tess and I made another trip up to the Gorge. We weren't sure if we'd make it since there were rumors that they stopped plowing the road. Well rumors were right! We made it up in the subaru though and minus a little bit of scraping the bottom with snow it wasn't too bad. We parked with everyone else around km 14 so had a 1 km skin up the road. Not too bad though. Beautiful day with the sun coming in and out. Skiing was fantastic with about 10 cm over a highly consolidated smooth underlayer. Super smooth and fast! We dragged Pico along (the dog) and he loved the way up on the firm skin track and then got punished on the way down!! Good times! Be sure to check out the pics and vids, especially the one of Mark skiing out carrying an 80 lb golden retreiver!!! Love it!

It was a great day...great visibility, great company, great fun to watch the dog flounder in the deep snow, and it was a fun drive up to kilometer 14. It would have been fun to stop at the Burner again on the way home, but you can't have too much fun in one day. Are you noticing an underlying theme here?
