Early Season Skiing surprises us all!!

What a weekend!!! After Tess and my venture two weeks ago with poor results we all were pleasantly surprised to find that winter had arrived! With Roger's Pass being one the most reliable early season ski spots, it was a bit of a highway up Connaught drainage. Saturday was a mixed day with most of it being poor vis and snowy. A huge group including some from Golden and some from Kelowna we had an awesome day! easily 40 cm of storm snow provided great turns and many smiles!

Peter and Yannick were besides themselves as this was Peters first bc experience and Yannick's first in at least a decade. They both skied very well and by the end of the weekend you wouldn't have been able to tell Peter was a tele freshman.

We were fortunate enough to have great accomo in Revy with Joel and his dad. What a place they have built. It's been alot of work but it sure is nice. It was a treat to have a great place to eat sleep and dry gear as well as good company. Eventually we'll break Joel free of his duties and get him skiing.

Sunday was an epic. It wasn't anything over the top or ridiculous... just plain awesome. With being up Balu the day before we headed up to Ursus with a large crew (15 I think). This included a whole new bunch from Golden and more from Kamloops. We had amazing weather and found ourselves on top of 8812 bowl. It seems it was the route of the day as I think we were the 20th people to drop in and probably 40 people by the time the day was done but there were plenty of fresh to go around.

I bought a new camera and lens last month and was really excited to use it in the bc. It's taking a bit to get used to it due it's ultra wide angle but it took some faboulous pictures (the blue sky made it really). None of the sunday pics have been edited other than cropping (can't say as much for the snowday pics!).

Hopefully we don't hit a dry spell here because I'm all fired up for the season ahead!!!
