So these posts are going be quite repetitive over the winter......Another epic weekend in Roger's Pass. Nothing new really. There are always some variations and this time is was our ski partners. Saturday saw Ron, Lisa and Jackie from Golden meet us in the chilly -16 parking lot to start off the day up the Connaught Drainage. We hiked up Grizzly Shoulder and enjoyed an adventurous decent including sweet pow, cliff circumvention, and nuisance hike out at the end. All and all another sweet day. Ron was gracious and invited us to crash at his pad in Golden and with sleeping bags and thermarests in tow we didn't hesitate a moment. Lone behold, we get there and girls had cleared one of their room giving Tess and I had a wicked sleep on a comfy bed. A slow sunday morning with delicious breaky found us not skinning until close to noon MST. It was snowing hard, but enough vis we decided to make the trek up to balu to ski some open slope. With about 5-10 cms accumulating as we skinned the ski from the pass was superb. A little touchy on the depth perception but certainly worth the face shots! Two good laps and the fun ski out later, all T and I had left to do was survive the heavy snowfall warning drive home, and that's another story in itself! There are some videos online and hopefully we'll score some more pics and vids from Ron later so check them out.
